- Normal: Apnuci appears as a female kangaroo just under five feet tall with green fur, cream underside, and cinnamon brown mottling. She smells like apple cider.
- Combat Form: Apnuci will compress her body to stretch out in long, spider limbs and grossly elongated fingers and toes. Attacks with these limbs should be considered armor piercing and also deliver toxins on contact. Highly mobile, she will often use tree canopies for cover and mobility.
Personality and History
Apnuci is one of, if not the, most learned gooroo known. She has devoted a significant portion of her life in understanding biology and chemistry with secondary studied in history and politics. She almost always appears in areas that would deter combat due to collateral damage, a tactic she has kept for at least one hundred years. Solitary and very introverted, making contact with her has generally resulted in death as she has resigned to kill anyone that encounters her hide any weakness, and this has only changed during her time in the United States when she migrated there somewhere around 1850.
It was a very clever and stealthy writer who managed to secure the first drawings and data on Apnuci. However, he also knew her habits and was ready when she came to take his life. Rather than flee or fight, he accepted his fate and asked only that she verify his notes so that he might know he died having accomplished something. Apnuci did honor this before killing him as neatly as possible. It was his PKE that altered her behavior and changes her personality over the next few centuries. To this day, she keeps his book and notes as a treasure over all else.
Apnuci has always had a terrible fear of the other elder gooroo Tobaros, and much of her skill with poison was directed at making herself deadly to her own kind. As it stands, she is the only gooroo can can slay another gooroo swiftly, and her ability to do such is known only to the U.S. Military, Tobaros, and the Mochi. With relations eased between her and her fellow elder, there has been little reason to suspect she would unleash this ability without reason nor will she give her secrets to anyone else.
In the late 1990's, a child went missing and was never found in Apnuci's neighborhood. Some time after, she appeared with a young son, Chobaroo, who has been observed growing and eventually taking up residence of his own in the same city. This is the only incidence of a child being seen with an elder, and it suggests that elders, if not adults, are capable of spawning new gooroo, and that there may be some parental support of the young one.
Apnuci, after bearing Chobaroo, has set herself upon an age-old task of hers. She still works to develop a gooroo toxin that will fade or erase memory so that she can disarm assault teams without killing them. As an elder, she has no need to accumulate more PKE, and she needs mass only when injured.
