Bulletproof Maple

Mobrasu, or Maple as she is better known, was discovered during an investigation into a cult in the early 1920's in Chicago. Her exact origins are unknown, and there is some suggestion she was summoned from some place else, but she was very quick to make allies. In the firefight during the night she was found, several officers were killed, and Maple took on some of their traits as a passive feeder. Her place with the team was secured when she took up arms and stepped into the line of fire, saving and officer and wounding the attacker in the process without killing him.

Maple was brought back first as evidence and later as a witness to what happened that night. Her uncanny behavioral similarities to the fallen officers raised the question of whether a monster could be an officer of the peace. She willingly submitted herself to numerous tests including a battery of ballistics tests that earned her the name Bulletproof Maple. Intelligent both book wide and streetwise, she studied law while the debate of what to do with her went on. By this time, the mobs were growing in power, and bloodshed between mobs and the police was growing, and Maple decided she would not wait any longer.

Unlike any other gooroo, Maple is completely free flowing. Her shell is almost non-existent, and so escape from any holding cell or building was simple for her. Hiding on the underside of a police car, she waited for the right moment to ride along, and in the midst of an investigation she arose once more as a bullet shield to an unwary officer that would have died that night. She was given a choice that night: change sides and take a position of wealth and power, or put herself at the top of a mob hit list. She accepted the spot on the list gleefully and attempted to subdue the mobster, but she fell back to protect her fellow officer once more.

The next day a request for Maple as a partner was made and shot down. Then another come, and another, until it turned into a sort of vote by the officers vote to have her in the field and not stuck behind a desk or in a cell at the station. Her appearance alone might spook some people though, and she was eventually given a position in the special investigations office where she has dutifully served as an officer that everyone knew could not be bought. She was an Untouchable, and no amount of money or promise of influence would keep her from doing what is right and upholding the law. Many of her passive feedings have happened in the field, but a number of them have happened at the bedside of old friends. Being a gooroo, her need for PKE is known, and sometimes augmented by things found during investigations, but it is considered an honor to have her witness your death knowing she will take part of you with her.
