Appearance
Green eyes are enough to indicate that this unit is different. While Strafe are only 40% similar to their Felyxa origins, the weave reading skill still appears in rare units. Coral is also easy to spot because her fur patterning resembles something more natural than the genetically coded urban camo pattern that her kin bear. Instead she has rosettes of near back around dots of brown on a base color of gray. While she still fits in among her kin, the rosette pattern is unusual. Her long wings, not unlike the wings of a dragonfly in shape but only one pair of them, are barred with gray, brown, and black that look like chevrons when the wings are close against her back. Like all of her kin, she is a hexapod with two walking limbs and four upper limbs that can be used for mobility or for holding.
Coral is typically found in a formal IIGD uniform of urban camo pattern. She usually carries one or two pistols when on indoor duties, and she may be seen with a sniper rifle and a backpack when out in the open.
Unit History
Had anyone checked the logs on green eyed hexapods, they would have suspected unit C0R4L would be a problem. IN her case, Coral, as she came to be called, developed a powerful sense of empathy that could detect emotional signals up to 500 meters away. This capability went unnoticed for several years, and she was noted mostly for saving civilian targets caught in the combat as well as allies who had been pinned down without anyone knowing there was more to her than just being a faithful soldier. No one noticed her reading choices when off duty, nor did they see how well informed she had made herself.
Then came a day marked as a turning point in her history. As a decorated unit, it was of interest to understand why she excelled when so many similar to her didn't. The commanding general of the forces was in attendance along with a half dozen engineers and scientists from the project. Several upper representatives including a few politicians were present as well while the scientists and engineers talked about the Strafe project and highlighted how well it had gone.
Among those present was a politician who, without Coral knowing, been a large part of some of the more questionable pushes during the war. What she sensed from him was unlike all the others. She could tell that he enjoyed watching others suffer. and the whole time he was there looking at her, she knew he would enjoy pushing the limits of his authority. The moment came when loyalty of the units was questioned, and said politician demanded Coral terminate herself to show the absolute control the group had over her.
Coral drew her pistol, removed the safety, and immediately aimed it at the politician's head.
The shocked lead engineer called out "Unit C0R4L stand down! Explain yourself!"
Coral replied calmly without withdrawing her pistol. "The manner of termination was not specified. This man would draw arousal from seeing me kill myself, so I shall terminate him first which will lead to my own termination. You have five seconds to provide a valid ovveride."
"C0R4L rescind termination order but keep target in your sights." The voice was that of the only real commander in the room, the general. "Explain how you can detect the target's intentions."
"I have auxiliary senses which allow me to experience part of what a target experiences."
"Very well. You are not authorized to terminate this target." The general spoke as most witnesses breathed a sigh of relief. "You may choose another means by which further transgressions will nullified." The politician didn't have time to realize what was happening when Coral lowered her weapon but fired somewhere on the way from being drawn to being holstered. The single shot echoed in the room followed by the crumpling of the politician.
"Target chances of natural copulation have been removed. Subsequent lack of hormones should adjust their behavior."
Coral was removed from the main duty list, and all those present were sworn to secrecy regarding the incident. Coral has since been taken into the control of high command where she is used for scouting, sniping, and as an escort during political meetings where she acts as a lie detector for her commanders.

- Coral's weave reading ability allows her to sense emotions even at long range. She cannot read thoughts of any kind, and she cannot effect emotions. She can, however, sense strong emotions up to 500 meters away. At times this can be overwhelming when she is in populated areas, but she has sufficient focus to set up a sort of threshold under which she does not pay attention to nearby emotions.
