Chodonex

Chodonex are exceptionally rare creatures with only three individuals present in the universe at this time. That, however may be a good thing as the physiology of the chodonex is in part tied to increasing entropy and thermal death of the universe. Even so, the three known chodonex, who have never met each other, tend towards being kind to mortals and rather disrupt aggression rather than meddling with peace.

Chodonex Properties

Chodonex are sometimes better known as ribbon hares or mobious hares, a trait that comes from their long and seemingly infinitely thing tails. Every chodonex has ears nearly as long as their torso, sooty forearms, hands, chest, and belly, and the blade like end of their tail bears a distinct colored dot. Their overall shape is rabbit like in the head and almost kangaroo like by the time you reach their legs and overly large feet.

The strangest part of a chodonex is not on the outside but on the inside. Chodonex are fractal beings with one symmetry number associated with each of the three. Inside a chodonex is a number of chodonex equal to that number, and inside those chodonex are another number within equal to that number. Chodonex thus carry an infinite number of their own kind within, and they only emerge when the later above them is destroyed to release them.

The Three Verbs

Each chodonex is the keeper of three verbs: Rush, Revert, and Open. These are powerful words when they are applied to a noun. For instance, Open Door would open a door though not necessarily as you might expect. A darker thing might be Open Person, and the result would be horrifying as a functioning body was opened and kept functioning. Revert is much like an undo button and can be used to undo something in the recent past and can be as extreme as Revert Death at which point even death can be turned away. Finally, rush increases the speed at which something happens. This can be used recursing to rush rush rush sometime and produce unbelievable acceleration.

Of Quarks and Quirks

Quarks make up the matter that surrounds us, and their combinations define the properties of the particles that compose them. Chodonex consist of a unified material that only existed during the big bang before any of the forces separated, and this their composition is different. To better discriminate these particles from other quarks, they have been dubbed quirks. The three quirks are Wonder, Dream, and Hope. Each chodonex is a different balance of quirks, and all chodonex will register as a form of matter that really should not exist at this temperature and pressure.

Impossible Matter

Chodonex are immune to any damage incurred in the realm of normal physics and so resistant to magic that they might as well be immune. In addition, their mass is both nearly zero kilograms and 10^52 kilograms, or the mass of a universe, and yet they do not exert gravity beyond their boundaries. These impossibilities stem from the type of matter they are made from and the forces that bind it. There is no gravity, electro-weak, or otherwise in a chodonex. There is only one unified force, and part of that force is Dream, an element lost so early that none have found it and only mortals can touch it when asleep and released from the confined of their physical self.

This also means that chodonex have a weakness. IN the land of dreams, chodonex are vulnerable like mortals normally are while mortals are often limited only by their imagination. Chodonex are good0willed creatures though, and even at a risk to themselves, they will try to protect troubled dreamers.

Orbital Structure

Chodonex each have an orbital like structure that controls what verbs they can use. In addition, when a chodonex assumes a high energy configuration, it takes on a monstrous appearance with jagged jaws, massive claws, and fierce eyes even if their personality does not fit it. Chodonex have one low orbital, and therefore verb, that they can use at will. The next orbital takes focus and extensive use will force the high energy conformation. The final orbital is always high energy and may be so high that the chodonex almost never attains it.

Mobility

All chodonex can hover and accelerate to incredible speeds using rush that can even allow for space travel, and this is how Echo and Flare move. Ritz as will be explained later uses Open Sky instead to bridge points in space. Chodonex move as though no force applied to them, and when they invert or move in other gravity wells, only their orientation is obeyed.

Transference of Properties

Any object held in the arms, legs, or tail of a chodonex is imparted with the same invulnerability and denial of reality. A person in the arms of a chodonex could sit front row for a supernova and both passenger and chodonex would be unharmed. A chodonex can only import this on someone or something they can loop a limb around, preferably tail or arms. In addition, those held share the denial of gravity and fall into the chodonex's gravity rules as well as their lack of inertia, meaning they can be accelerated with the chodonex with no ill effect.

Death of a Shell

In the event that a chodonex dies, it fades and is replaced by the next ring of chodonex. For example, Ritz with symmetry 5 will result in five new chodonex. One of them will bear his red tail dot, but the others will have unique colors and variance in personality. In general, the released chodonex do not appear at the site of their previous layer's demise, but the one that shares the same color dot has a higher chance of appearing near the point of death.

The Three Chodonex

Three chodonex exist in the universe today. Their names are Echo, Ritz, and Flare
