The Jinx

Origin

In the beginning of the first universe while The Darkness was reeling from the initial blast of like caused by the movement of Gravitas from her ancient perch, something emerged from the blast of the big bang that would become the most Darkness's hated objects in the universe.

The entities were created in a similar way that particle-anti particle pairs can form and colapse from and to energy. In this case, Luck split into positive and negative forms followed by a the impossible; the negative aspect of Luck took its own form independent of the positive aspect. The two entities became known as Lady Luck and The Jinx. While Lady Luck escaped to act on her own, The Jinx became trapped by Gravitas and quickly becoming infatuated with her, starting one of the strangest and influential relationships in the universe.

Creation of Dream

Even before the classical forces associated with quantum mechanics and physics as a whole, the powers of dream and the three quirks of faith, hope, and wonder broke away from the rest of the universe and formed a parallel universe that would later become known as the dreamscape. This plane is dominated by illogical and bizarre rules that are in turn altered and expanded by the sleeping minds of mortals when they dream. This is also why The Darkness tries so often to destroy all life and eradicate this dangerous power from the universe and thus aid in restoring power and night to everything. <BR

The Jinx is the first and moist powerful dream architect that ever existed, and he used this power to create a huge nexus that continually generated new and expanding dreamscapes while hiding and protecting Gravitas from her kin. Resting n the very center of a massive, ever expanding dyson sphere like structure of blue crystal, the secret gardens of Gravitas and Jinx reside. Here is where Jinx made the perfect and beautiful realms of dream to try and lighten the weight on her heart.

Murphy's Law

Jinx bears the burden of this law, and his power must be diffused cross the universe to keep it from growing strong enough to break the laws of physics. The law stats anything that can happen, will. This is important because Jinx does not cause bad luck but instead makes all things probably no matter how unlikely. In fact, it is Jinx that bears the bad luck in order to siphon it out of the probability shift that he causes. These effects run counter to those of Lady Luck who instead changes probability distributions on the fly and according to her whim.
