NIXIE Basic Stats

Special Abilities

Kinetomimetic Intelligent Thread
SUNE units are woven from a peculiar bio-mimetic molecular thread that can create complex interaction patterns as it folds and interlaces. By changing the folding, the SUNE can change size, density, color, and mimic other species. Advanced Skills (A) Vocal Mimicry and (A)Physical Mimicry are based on Con.
Vocal mimicry aids Con rolls to falsify a voice. It can be used to fool voice recognition systems. As an advanced skill on its own, it can be used to make up voices on the fly based on very little voice data such as a clip from a recording stick or a holovid.
Physical mimicry likewise lets a SUNE change their color, apparent species, and mimic unique persons. By itself as an advance skill, it can be used to invent new shapes that can be perfected for use later.
NIXIE
Neutral Integration of Xenomorph Information and Expression
NIXIE are built from what was not used for SUNE units. Unlike SUNE, NIXIE are highly predatory and will kill and consume a target. A NIXIE that does so can almost perfectly mimic their prey and gain a +2D to all attempts to mimick that target to the finest detail. This does not copy memories though, but physical properties, retina patterns, voices and more are all copied with high fidelty. NIXIE do not need to roll their mimicry to imitate a target they consume, and their bonus applies to their advance skills for this form.

NIXIE gain +2D when making swimming checks, can use swimming as dodge underwater, and do not take penalties to checks due to being underwater

At the time the character is created only, the character gets 2D for every 1D placed in:

  • Con
  • Persuasion
  • Brawl
  • Willpower
  • Swimming

History

It would be wrong to say that the non-Force sensitive KIT material was useless. In fact, these low-Force threat found its place in predominately female figures that shared the SUNE ability to change shape. However, they proved to be even better shapeshifters than the SUNE, and if they killed a target, it became almost impossible to know who was real and who was a duplicate. These highly predatory creatures requires a great deal of care in handling, and even though they were mostly Force Depleted, the occasional one would appear with an ability to alter minds and draw them into their demise.

Eventually it was realized that all NIXIE are highly freshwater linked, and they always looked a little wet. The trained eye could spot them even in their best forms, but that often meant they would just resort to deadly force. Controlling NIXIE is a tricky thing, but if their aggressive nature can be sated, they can become useful units. About half of NIXIE units have to be quietly disposed of due to their wily nature, but the other half often find company they approve of and will listen to. The best associates have actually been SUNE who seem to thrive on the challenging nature of the NIXIE, and the NIXIE seem to enjoy competition in shapeshifting that the SUNE provide.

Final production has been established by growing SUNE and NIXIE in a common enclosure. Both units are labor intensive to create and train, but their benefits far outweigh the cost. The ability to insert either into other governments alone mandates their production.
