Last Time 4/13/2024 - With Friends Like These

The Shadow of Blackmoore
Among those present at a high level meeting of those preparing to take on the anomaly in the jungle was Lady Amelia Blackmoore. As a fennec, she is small and looks rather unassuming, but Windy and Fwiffa could sense the dark energies that surround her and how similar they were to those that were involved in the vampire and zombie attacks of their prior assignment. It turns out that the soldiers ont he front facing side of Blackmoore are not what really keeps the metro area safe. While they handle all the day to day issues of keeping shady dealings from turning into turf wars, it is Amelia and her army of the dead that keeps everything else out. Even so, the threat in the jungle is one that gives her pause. She is sending Myka and Gwen, two of the most dangerous people in the city and two of her most trusted contacts with Windy to aid her, but she suggests getting to know them as you are less likely to be left behind if they feel a connection to you beyond just someone asked them to help.
A Rat and Three Galaxies
Gwen is a fairly quiet and observant rat with some unusual properties. Even in dim light she tends to wear dark sunglasses though for what reason is unknown. Her tail is actually three long, slender tails that are typically woven together and hidden by a warm cloth sleeve over them all. She is a form of hybrid outer realm entity that can see many different dimensionalities, distort reality through lensing that can make her larger or smaller, and she has incredible durability. Because of Windy's use of the warp crystal, Gwen is able to show a dangerous truth to Windy: there are three different dimensions collapsing onto each other that show at first as three overlapping galactic disks each at a different angle. One is Terra's dimension, one is Windy's dimension, and the other belongs to the mysterious entity, Diver.
Gwe was able to show Windy what the fabric of the cosmos looked like through her eyes, and it was very much like a landscape through which energy like the Force flowed. It also showed what Gibbs really looked like, so Windy knows that "Gibbs" is someone else.
Lady Wolf and Screaming Cigarettes
Myka can be described as a very strong person with a great deal of restraint. So far only appearing as a black, female, anthro wolf, she is composed of an energy much different from Gwen or Amelia. With one foot in the natural realm and the other in Hell, she is almost the opposite polarity to Celeste. A deep, roiling chaos sits controlled by a well trained mind, but one has to wonder about its limits and what comes after they have been reached. Myka looks like someone that likes food, and she seems to be someone who will stress eat, drink, and smoke. in fact, she is smoking when Windy first sees her alone, and the cigarettes she has have tortured souls bound into them that Myka is consuming nad maybe even destroying. As a hellhound, she is a lower class demon which makes her a big threat to most normal folk as well as a guardian of some of Hell's boundaries and secrets much like Cerberus would be. Her other half is Terran Lycan, simply put, native werewolves.
Gwen mentioned that Myka once destroyed nine worlds as part of the end of days prophecy in one of her past lives. She still seems to have an insatiable appetite for more than just food.
Gwen and Myka seem to get alone very well, and they may actually be a couple.
The Man Behind the mask
The man behind the jackal mask calling himself Gibbs is actually Gimble, a selonian male that inquisitors had encountered in the presence of a Force sensitive female that had taken him and fled their home world. Somewhere along the line, Irene must have come into enough power to draw more attention from Palpatine, and Irene was killed while Gimble escaped. Unable to go home because of his force sensitivity and unable to cope without his only lifelong companion and leader, something happened that drove him to the brink. Somewhere on a suicide run he found another path. He found the warp crystals, and from that point on destiny changed, and his psyche continued to degrade as his power grew. At the moment, his true intentions are a mystery, but he seems drawn to Windy because she is a selonian female that also cannot return home because of what has been done to him.
Moxie's Secret Stash
Atlantean Power Armor. Moxie has two of three surviving suits, the last one existing on Mara and in use by the fabled Doomslayer, Terra's most powerful demon killer and guardian of the gates between Terra and Mara. This incredibly powerful pair of artifacts are being entrusted to Windy and Fwiffa for the mission ahead with the implication that the hazards there might be so great that this will be needed just to keep them alive in the field.

Potentially Reportable Findings

  • The planetary system contains massive sentient entities that are force capable and able to foresee far beyond the boundaries of the star system
  • Terra is actively aware of Palpatine
  • Celeste represents a potentially unlimited source of healing and life extension
  • Based on Diver, there are potentially accessible dimensions beyond hyperspace
  • Terran technology includes the ability to teleport matter hundreds of millions of miles without a ship
  • Warp crystals (currently a unique item) can be used for spacetime travel
  • A hyper-intelligent semi-living program has infiltrated the holonet and BOS

Palpatine's Ploy

  • Each unit was made to think it would be the only survivor in the end and would not trust the others.
    • Fwiffa was given the kill command to just clear out the team
    • Windy was given orders such that Fwiffa would be eliminated at any sign of weakness
    • No one knows what commands Miriam was given
  • Gibbs revealed communications that suggest these kill commands were a test and a means to keep pressure on the units when out of his direct reach
  • The real details of Palpatine's plans remain unknown
    • One likely part involves Miriam brining back a trapped life essence of these worlds for Palpatine to use for his own life extension and power gain

Species Themes

  • Rabbit and hare splicers are dangerous. They are also omnivorous and have more in common with a Monty Python rabbit than your average cuddle bunny. High energy, industrious, and they often do because they can.
  • Dragons are legendary and among the most dangerous species on Terra, or at least that is the legacy they left behind. Their greatest trick was making folks think they were extinct. Hunters are not wholly convinced.
  • Red Pandas are a dominant splicer and uplift species group that waged a long war with many nations, and they still hold a lot of land on the western side of the mega-continent. There is still animosity between those who were in the war
  • Splicers in general are humanoid in shape, roughly 1.2-2.3 meters tall, and all have mostly human genomes. They are omnivorous with leanings biased by their spliced species.
  • Uplifts are closer in size to their origin species ranging from tiny mice to massive elephants. All have opposable thumbs and are equally intelligent as splicers
  • Humans mostly hate the surface, feel it is their world to reclaim, and try to erase splicers and uplifts as part of their plans. Well equipped with advanced tech, they suffer badly from occurring in relatively small numbers in distant, poorly-coordinated underground facilities often referred to as vaults or burrows. The official term is Shelter followed by a #-# where each # is a single base 32 digit (ranging from 0-9 and A-Z) with V, X, and Z being special reserve characters for the first digit.
    • The oldest, largest shelters are single digits on each character in their designation
    • Secondary shelters are generally younger and use the ##-## convention to distinguish them from older sites
    • Special range Shelter characters include Zia who came from X-8, Beryl from V-7, and Trinity's shelter is Z-5, one of the largest shelters in the world second only to V-Z, a mega shelter north of Blackmoore
    • Humans have pride in their shelters but show solidarity with almost other shelters when a call for help comes.
  • Macropods are so far missing on Terra though other marsupials exist especially gliders.
