Basic Stats

Serial Number: AA1123
Name: Fibi
Model: Arya (tigress)
Height: 6'3"
Build: Heavy / Athletic
Eyes: Gray with star-shaped pupils

Description
Like most Arya, Fibi is a tall, well-built female tigress. Her head fur is cut short and neat, and while her colors are slightly muted, she still bears the familiar tiger orange and black stripes. Her fur hides any real muscle definition, and that may make it easier to underestimate her strength. It isn't until one tries to look Fibi in the eyes that they may realize something is not quite right with this Arya. This feline's pupils are not round as they should be nor slit like some cats but instead they have a hint of a six-point star shape. t is most noticeable in bright light when her pupil is small and the little oily black dots in her iris show. Looking two long into her eyes can be unnerving as an eerie sensation of more than just an Arya is looking back at you. Not that something not an Arya is looking at you, but that an Arya and something else is there in her gaze. She is prone to smiling at things for no reason and occasionally talking to something, herself or something unseen perhaps, with short fits of laughter less often that can range from a snicker to a full out cackle. Though she is somewhat unbalanced and perhaps unhinged, she is still in service rather than retirement.
Fibi, who is named as a play on numbers with her serial number, appears most often in gray urban camouflage and may come with a standard side arm and other utilities on her belt. For now she is not in full armor that would also normally include a face mask. She does not wear any form of boots or gloves.

Non-Standard Properties

Fluid Anatomy
While Fibi may appear to be flesh and blood, her body is made up of a foreign cell type that is somewhere between organic and inorganic. The material on its own is likened to a tar like mass that works as a collective to give the shape and properties that most see. Because she is made from a fluid mass, most blunt force trauma such as punches and even standard rifle and pistol round are wasted on her. She is also able to readily re-seal from being sliced. Most poison and venoms are also useless as she lacks the biology they target, but she can be injured by other chemical and magical agents.
The fluid form is vulnerable to extreme heat or cold, and incendiary weapons are exceptionally effective at damaging and deterring Fibi. She can also be splattered, and while that won't kill her, it makes her vulnerable as she pulls herself back together. Because she is a fluid mass, she can put part of herself into small spaces and use hydraulic force to break open doors, containers, and more. She can also flow around objects allowing her to pass through grates, bars, and more. Unfortunately this does not apply to her equipment.
Molecular Mimicry and More

One of Fibi's more disturbing traits is the ability to mimic what she touches.

Fibi always has three states:

  • A fluid state like a tar baby that can flow and move freely
  • Her original Arya shape. This is her normal state
  • The shape of someone she made contact with

In that final state, Fibi can make a perfect functional replica of someone. This includes all biological and even some cybernetic abilities. This does not, however, include psyche or any mental or magical abilities. If she contacts a Seya, for example, she will be lighter, winged, and be able to fly. She can even imitate the appearance of clothing. However she cannot inherit fox magic but she retains her fluid properties. Fibi can only retain the memory of the last thing she chose to mimic. She can go back and forth as much as she likes, but if she selects a new target form, she loses the memory of the prior form.

Tar Baby
Defined as 'A sticky situation that gets worse the more you interact with it' It is worth noting that Fibi's tar-like fluid state can alter it's shape rapidly and may often take on frightening shapes. However, what may be more frightening is that contact with her may actually cause one to become stuck to her. Extended struggles may only end up with her wrapping around a target until they are immobilized. She hasn't absorbed or fully enveloped anyone...yet.
Defense in Madness
Between talking to Soot and being cast into a maddening world for more than a month, Fibi's mental state is questionable. She is deeply loyal to the SED, but she is prone to talking to herself and breaking out in fits of laughter at seemingly nothing. In truth she is recalling things from her trip, and part of who she is talking to is her other self on the 'other side'. Because of her scrambled psyche, she is a dangerous mind for psions and mages to probe, and she has resistance to direct mental attacks. This does not, however, include physical effects from psions such as telekinesis.

Origin of Fibi's Properties

Story Time with Soot
Everything began with a story from Soot, Ember's shadowy symbiote. An innocent enough question in the form of 'Do you know about any warriors stronger than us?" It isn't an unreasonable question for a battle-biased Arya to a storyteller that is supposed to know things from far off lands. Of course there were tales of other worlds and great armies, their generals, their victories and their failures, and the Arya that would become Fibi was enthralled. Unfortunately, the more Fibi listened to Soot, the more warped her mind became as a side effect of the dual nature that Soot's voice has. It prevented her from knowing when to stop and instead asked if anyone had ever defeated these greater warriors.
Of course, there was a group that managed to do so. Already Fibi was growing twitchy and by some luck, ill or otherwise, Fibi didn't break down into flat out cackling and shouting at shadows. Told about a great race of beings who could change their form and used subterfuge to break down the ranks of the great army, Fibi made the mistake of asking how. From Soot she learned a few words and shapes, and these sounds and shapes burned themselves into the Arya's mind. She learned where there were more of these symbols, and curiosity and cats have a relationship.
IN the following weeks, Fibi grew ever more agitated and started to laugh and cry at random times. More disturbing were the strange symbols she kept writing on pats of paper and eventually her own bunk. She was laughing madly while drawing on the wall when the decision was made to take her into medical custody, but by the time they came for her there was only a sharpie marker where she had been sitting.

Forty Days in One Night
The words and shapes that had eaten into Fibi's mind were those of a place far off. To Soot, she was just listening and learning from the shadowy being, but Soot always comes with the risk of severe mental trauma without any intended injury. Fibi found herself in a strange landscape. It was barren and dark but for two moons that hung impossibly low and large at night and by a sickly red star during what could be called day. Where was a good question but when might have also been just as important of a question.
The place was a distant realm that Soot had long ago passed through. How or when Soot made this transit is anyone's guess as time does not seem to be rigid in Soot's history including that with Ember. Sun and moon alike provided little warmth, and Fibi was forced to scavenge for food and to find shelter from the cold winds that seemed to never ebb. The tough bitter plants and small, bizarre animals were miserable as a source of food, but hunger bid her consume them regardless of preference.
After a week, she found a cave that finally gave her shelter from the cold. With a place of shelter, she was able to gather fuel and have consistent warmth when she rested, but she had no means to get home or even to know where she was. Isolated, chilled, and malnourished, she began chanting some of those strange words as she sat near her feeble fire and listening to the echoes in the cave until she realized they were not echoes at all. By the time she realized figures were rising out of the floor, or seeming to, her consciousness failed her.
Fibi found herself far deeper in the caves. She was seated in a small pit that held the dark figures of those that must have moved her here. One of them, sitting just across from her, was a perfect image of her! It offered a strange tome and waited. Looking at the symbols on the pages, she seemed to know this language, dead and lost to most of the universe, and was able to read from the tome. The records of a race of beings, the great armies and the wars they waged, the waning and fading of a society scattering to other realms as their ancient home slowly died with its star. The more she read, the more she understood she, as she was, would never survive travel back to Spindizzy. In typical Arya fashion, the only question left was 'What do I have to do?'
Fibi understood the history enough to know she was being given a choice, and she chose to do anything she had to get home. The next two weeks proved to her that she had committed to that path already when she started eating the flora and fauna of this world. Her entire body was infected with some kind of parasitic creature that instead of destroying what it consumes, it imitates what it infects and creates the shadowy creatures living in the cave. Even with a modified biology, the path she was to take as still long, dangerous, and cold. She bravely set forth across open plains and up craggy mountain passes until she came to something she did not need a history book to understand.
On a high plateau she found the ancient ruins of great war machines. Armor scoured clean of its bearers still remained after eons where the high, dry winds kept them preserved but for some signs of erosion. She could feel the difference in the energy of this place, and what she was certain of was that she could feel the spirits of the dead lingering long after their passing. It was in this place that the barrier between life and death was paper thin, and with the right words and a stout heart set on her home to guide her, she stumbled over the threshold.
Fibi was found in the locker room curled in a ball and shivering. Her fur was covered in frost, and she was showing signs of malnutrition and dehydration that someone might have from at least a month of exposure, but she was only missing for eight hours. While Ember's case was similar, 400 ms or the blink of an eye for months of time away, the effects on Fibi were far different and deemed utterly unique to her, and they warranted immediate quarantine.

Cellular Structure
It would be more accurate to say that Fibi has no cellular structure or at least it is accurate to say nothing on the scale of eukaryotic cells. In fact, what structures exist are smaller than most viruses. There are repeating segments though on the nano-scale, and they are divided mostly between structural fibers and some kind of fluid element that like oil droplets held in the fiber mesh. They have the ability to alter light continuously, and the fibers can mimic most textures forming the basis of how she mimics someone.
Metaphysical Essence
The non-physical component of Fibi's being is divided among her original, even if patched, soul and her new essence. This essence bridges her physical transforming abilities and is why her imitations are both spot on and can be of any size or mass despite her resting mass.
Flow and Temperature
Fibi's body can act as a pure fluid and let her flow through openings and force herself into small spaces and pry at them. Of note, Fibi's body can remain mobile as cold as -180C which is colder than dry ice (-110C) but not quiet as cold as liquid nitrogen (-210). At lower temperatures she will go into stasis until warmed up again. She can function at temperatures as high as 70C (well done steak) even if it is uncomfortable. Between 50C and 100C, Fibi is uncomfortable and experiences pain. At boiling water, she can suffer thermal wounds and while she is not overtly flammable, fire is a sure death for her.
