Even without an esper inside, there are few who would want to be staring down one of these pocket warships. Armed with turrets that cover every possible approach, the XB-8 is definitely the spiritual successor to the B-17G placed in space. Fighters struggle to get within striking range of even a solo XB-8 let alone several in formation.

The XB-8 carries heavy armor, powerful forward weapons including both destructive and disabling units plus huge rotary drum missile racks often loaded with anti-matter weapons. Designed to take down ships ten times its size, there is little doubt why Trouble and Bertha would want to fly with them.

The total crew on these ships is also larger at 20 crewman, which can potentially make both espers far more powerful than they ever were.
