Teeckani Aryi

Summary

A series of ferret-like alien species that once expanded like locusts and suddenly became scattered and rare. History of them is spotty though evidence of their planet harvesting remains in the form of dead planets and whole solar systems stripped of resources. No one is sure what happened to cause this massive fleet of little terrors to not only vanish but to leave almost no trace of their kind aside from a few scattered individuals.

Species

Zyxx(White)

Zyxx are best known for being incredibly tough and capable of surviving with just their teeth, claws, and their wits. Claiming the frozen north as their home, they are respected as soldiers and survivalists. In the fleet, they are the most likely to fill out leadership roles when the Jynthi won't, and they often serve as the first line of defense when it comes to combat. Zyxx are predators, and they are used to pack hunting and living off an almost purely meat diet. This can make life in space hard for them, but the Kizz find ways to keep them amused and keep their diet consistent to their needs. Zyxx are slow to form bonds outside their own, but if you do so, you have a very dangerous and steadfast ally that is good to their word. However, it should also be known that they often give their word that betraying them will land you in a hell you haven't even dreamed of yet.

Kizz (Sable)

Kizz are the dominant species, and they would have taken over the whole planet if the remaining three species weren't strong enough to repel them. Kizz are the engineers and inventors of their world. When they lack the means on their own, they make something that fills the gap. They are, perhaps obviously, the main force behind the programs that took all their kind into space. Kizz are omnivores with a bias towards carnivore, so they get along with the Zyxx well enough in the dining hall. They are smaller than Zyxx but that should not make one think they are not fierce. In a world of technology, an angry Kizz is like a gremlin loose in a nuclear power plant. However, if you can deal with their rather harsh attitudes, they do well in taking care of ships other than their own. Despite being only about 18 inches long, they have transformed and even destroyed whole worlds with their technology, so don't count size and the inability to speak anything but their own language as any indication they are inferior or unintelligent.

Kizz make up a full 45% of the population.

Somaph (Teal)

The Somaph were an unknown species on their world until the Kizz started dumping trash in the ocean and taking ships across the seas. The Sompah are the largest species at over 36 inches long. They are stout and more otter like than ferret like with teal and blue colored fur, webbed hands and feet, the ability to breath both air and water though they prefer the latter. Somaph are less machine makers and instead they are the masters of environmental manipulation. The Kizz might be able to make terraforming equipment, but it is the Somaph that understand how to deploy it. With vast cities build on the ocean floor in darkness and seclusion, they enjoyed a long period of uninterrupted growth following by a long war with the Kizz. IN the end, the ocean was their and the land was to the Kizz until treaties were finally made. Somaph are omnivores that prefer an even mix of sea plants and fish. They are generally calm and collected, but they can show a real stubborn streak at times. They sometimes still hold a grudge against the Kizz, they respect the Zyxx for their strength and integrity, but they really only trust the Jynthi when it comes down to choosing sides.

Jynthi(Black)

Do not taunt the Jynthi. Do not cross the Jynthi. Do not ignore the Jynthi or your lungs will be on the outside. Jynthi are the smallest of of all the Teeckani Aryi at only 12-16 inches long. Unlike all the others, they are herbivores, and when one things of evolution, they are thought to have branched off even earlier than the Somaph did from the ancestors of the extant races. One trait that co-evolved with the Jynthi is the ability to sence paranormal energy, harness it, and even bend it to their will. A Jynthi elder is one of the most terrifying folks you could come across. They've turned powerful Zyxx into cripples, they've turned whole squads of Kizz mechs into rust, and the Sompah are pretty sure they could boil them in their own sea, but the Somaph and the Jynthi have never had a quarrel warranting that. In short, Jynthi are the only ones capable of using what could be called magic. To them, it is just another aspect of nature, and they tend to have beliefs and rituals that could almost be called druidic.

Convincing the Jynthi to work with everyone else was a feat that the Somaph succeeded in. The Somaph pushed the Kizz to work their machines to create suitable habitats in the new spacecraft that would please the Jynthi, and the Somaph for that matter, and they convinced the Zyxx to respect the smaller beings and provide them shelter. IN doing this, they created a peace between the four races, and it was in this place of safety that the Jynthi, in return, provided some of the most devastating devices the Teeckani Aryi possessed. Between their mystics and the Kizz engineers, they create world devouring systems that could strip planets bare and make more ships for the fleet. Jynthi also provided superior medical care and technology that kept the fleet safe and in good health as they wandered the cosmos.

Jynthi are rare with only 10% of the population. One of the side effects of their magic is that their aging is slowed, but it has also slowed their maturation and their ability to bear young. In addition, Jynthi place a strain on the ambient magic fields where they exist. Because they understand this, they limit their numbers to prevent, or at least try to prevent, catastrophe.
