Summary

  • Name: Lt. Stefan Davies
  • Apparent Species: Raccoon
    • Birth Species: ringtail cat (Bassariscus astutus)
  • Cyborg Conversion: 60% (arms, legs, tail, spine, partial organ substitution)
  • Height: 6'1"
  • Weight: 450 lb unarmored, ~575 lb heavily armored
  • Employment: SED Communications officer and NPD tactics specialist
  • Prior positions:
    • Neopolis SWAT
    • Special Agent for Centris Weapon Systems (CWS)

Static is a partial conversion cyborg that underwent complete body alteration and equipment upgrades to allow him to appear on the Spindizzy surface without being identified. The alteration also lightened his nearly 800 lb frame down to 450 lbs using thaumatugically enhanced materials of comparable strength but much lighter as well as extensive optimization of his power system to further reduce weight.

Static is a non-casting unit, but he can use SED-made magic weapons, and he has a strong preference for non-lethal weapons. Former a police officer, he joined the SED just to survive, but he actively tries to coordinate SED operations so they do the least amount of damage to civilian targets.

Capabilities

  • Internal Computers:
    • Brain Interface: "Athena" neural interlink and firewall
    • Central computer: "Daedalus" Located in place of right lung. Main computer and data storage
    • Distributed Processor "Icarus" cluster computer located along either side of the spine. Enhanced motor control.
  • Max Speed: 75 mph sustained ground speed. 100 mph ten second burst speed.
  • Communications array: ELF, Radio, Microwave ranges, full encryption available.
  • Lifting Capacity: Normal operation: 1 ton. Max overload: 5 tons, short term.
  • HUD: Internal link to Athena gives optical and audio overlays.

Cybernetic replacements

External Augments

  • Arms: Internal weapon holding. Fully replaced.
    • Weapons: Ultrasonic blade (left) and stun cannon (right)
  • Legs: Full replacement. Space for one sidearm in each thigh. Built for running and climbing
  • Spine: Full replacement, reinforced from hip brace to base of skull to allow for lifting without snapping the spine.
  • Ribs: Reinforced to take strain of motion.
  • Tail: Full replacement for balance and to house larger antennae
  • Ears: Replaced for augmented hearing and communications
  • Eyes: One eye replaced for enhanced optical abilities.

Internal Augments

  • Right lung replaced with primary computer
  • Kidneys: Both replaced to conserve water and better detoxify the blood
  • Liver: Partial replacement for detox augmentation

Personality

Static is a very dutiful and compassionate person with a strong feelings towards caring for family and community. He usually tries to keep the SED from entering into lethal interactions when he can, and he is almost always a very calm person. When Static speaks, he does so with respect authority, and he usually does not waste time one being flowery in his speech when he an instead be clear.

Static buries the shame he has in working for the SED, but there aren't many other places he could go that could maintain his cybernetics. If he has to work for the SED, then he does so with the intent of limiting the damage they can do. As a mobile communications center, he takes it on himself to keep the SED forces organized and the civilian populace out of the way.

In the presence of SED soldiers like Seya and Arya, he is calm and fair in how he judges them, and he takes care of those in his charge as if they were a police force under his command.

Static longs for one things he can never have back: his family. Even if he found them, he couldn't face them especially since his body has been so heavily altered. He feels the pain it would cause them to know he was alive all along, the likelihood that his wife as remarried, is not worth it just so he could be with them. Because of this, he is very protective of other families, and he will put himself in harm's way during an operation to protect others.

History

Descriptions

Name: Static Species: Raccoon cyborg Gender: Male Eyes: Brown Height: 6'1"

Static is a bit tall and think compared to the average raccoon, but there is nothing about his fur color or his facial mask that deviates from the species. What is different, however, is that he is at least a fifty percent conversion cyborg. The obvious modifications are those of his arms and his legs which have been completely replaced along with the addition of a junction at shoulders and hops for the artificial limbs to link to his body. While the exterior of the limbs are all smooth, they have been colored to at least make them look more like a raccoon's natural for coloration. There are a few thin black lines that the careful eye might make out in any of the limbs that denotes a seam in the shell of the limbs, and there are several such traces in all the limbs.

Static usually wears relatively plain clothes including dark-colored T-shirts and shorts, but he can sometimes be spotted wearing custom tailored shirts and pants with subtle patterns mimicking those of the lines on his limbs. Most of the time, however, he can be found with a long coat in addition to long pants and short-sleeve shirts.

If Static has any other augmentations or any hidden details about his limbs, he is not making them obvious.

Original Description

  • Species: Ringtail Cat (Bassariscus astutus)
  • Gender: Male
  • Height: 6'1"
  • 50% Conversion Cyborg
  • Weight: 700/850 lbs. unarmored/armored

The ringtail cat is often mistaken for a lemur or a cat of which it is neither. Rather, it is a member of the raccoon family including the raccoon, cacomistle, and coatimundi with the cacomistle being its closest relative. Slender and nimble, they are exceptional climbers and can get into nearly any unattended nook or cranny. Named for their bold black and white tail, which has around seventeen rings and a length roughly as long as their bodies, their rings are somewhat of a lie as they tail to close on the underside of their tails. The rest of their bodies are covered in light tan fur on their undersides and soft brown fur elsewhere. A mask of dark brown circled their eyes but does not quite close around the white fur surrounding their eyes, and this dark brown fur runs down their backs along the spine at times. Static shares all of these traits, at least in all the parts of him that are still organic. Static, named for his specialty in communications and electronic warfare, has had all four limbs replaced by heavy, sandstone-colored cybernetic replacements. Powerful engines hidden in the thighs of the legs provide power to the lower limbs and allow him to move at freeway speeds. Black seams mark the edges of vents that usually remain closed except when the reactors are under load. Each limb bears the markings of CWS-ST-01 followed by LR or RR designations for each limb and LA and RA on the shoulders of his left and right arms respectively. Like his legs, his forearms bear seams that conceal tools and weapons including a sonic blade and what is often called a thunder cannon. This devide is the bang in the flash bang, and can incapacitate organic targets without causing irreparable harm. What is not obvious is that his ears contain a metallic mesh that serves as part of a communication array which continues along his spine and into his long tail. While he has his natural ears, he also has ears and whiskers, so to speak, that pick up microwave and radio transmissions. Missing one lung, the space is instead taken up by the Daedalus computer his main processor and database. Along his spine is Icarus, a cluster computer running the length of his spine with heat sinks on the surface at every other vertebrae. Icarus and Daedalus both connect to Athena, the interface and barrier system that links to his organic brain. He lacks kidneys and a liver, all replaced with more efficient systems and internal nutrient storage, rendering him dependent on his augmentations for survival. As an older style cyborg, he requires regular maintenance that cannot be easily found. Despite what he can do with his combat systems, Static is strongly opposed to lethal weapons, and even though he is part of the SED, he will often try to redirect their actions to avoid unnecessary injuries or casualties when he is present.
