"Cursed" Races

Black Backed Jackals ( Associated with Terra )
Threats to Terra have not been limited to Sol's phoenix or large impactors. Other wandering worlds, stars, and outer horrors have reached out through the void to leave their mark on her and her children. Most folk consider jackals to be a terrifying species, but if they knew what they suffered through, they may be more compassionate. Jackals and ringtails diverged from their norms in what could be called recent history in that it occurred in the last 200000 years. An alignment of Terra between two dreadful stars, Acamar and Gibbeth, pulled upon the souls and minds of the whole planet for an entire night. Gibbeth's influence was handled by Mae, who herself was already akin to something like Gibbeth, leaving Luna helpless and Terra alone to face Acamar. The jackals, one of the most advanced races at the time, were the only ones aware of Acamar's alignment, and because of this, they became the target of that hungry maw. The souls of the jackals were pulled halfway into space with Terra holding onto their life force and bodies. The battle left a permanent scar on the species that persists until present day where they are known for having souls outside of their bodies that can even perform tasks such as scouting or even magic remote from their living flesh. They are still technologically advanced, and they are aggressive after having to defend themselves over the ages from those with smaller minds. Having the trust and aid of a jackal, however, usually means access to ancient lore and magic lost to the rest of the world.
Rabbits and Hares ( Associated with Luna )
Rabbits and hares are sacred to Luna. Unlike jackals and ringtails that were made during periods of dire celestial interference, Luna has always held a strong affinity for these species. Many say that you can see a rabbit with a pestle in the dark spaces of Luna's surface, and that is where the great celestial rabbit lies. No one knows if the rabbit was taken up there or if they were of Luna from the start and brought to Terra. One thing is certain though, the tern lunatic comes from what many thought would happen if you stared at Luna too long, and the rabbits and hares are of her, and so they come with a special madness all of their own. Luna is a huntress and a very well balanced and clear thinking goddess, but she also believes in a certain balance. Part of this balance is being able to break through those barriers of the status quo and old habits, and so the rabbits and hares were given the ability to disrupt their local reality of conditions were ever correct.
All rabbits and hares are a little crazy. They are energetic and driven by wild imaginations. They tend to be creators be it engineering, music, arts, writing, etc. For the most part, they live their lives with labels such as eccentric, bold, or whimsical, but like the jackal and the ringtail, when circumstance call for drastic measures, they react. It is extremely rare, but rabbits and hares are warpers in that they twist the fabric of reality around them. The best known examples of this are Alexander March, who became a dark shade that can create and possess machines, and Candice Alice White, a painter who literally walked into one of her paintings and out of reality leaving behing other paintings tht themselves seemed alive. Even Eva Lee seems to be following in their footsteps with a nanomachine augmentation greatly complicating the results.
Ringtails ( Associated with Mae )
Ringtails don't exist in the modern world, but no one has told them that. In fact, most would not really understand the circumstances surrounding their presence, but most share the belief that ringtails are bad luck, and the more of them there are, the worse things will be. They are not entirely wrong. While Terra fought Acamar for the souls of the jackals. Mae faced off with Gibbeth. Having lived far out in the cold expanse without shelter from any of the outer beings, she had her own defenses against such madness. Her solution, however, was madness of another form. Like the jackals, the ringtails comprised a very advanced civilization although one much more dangerous than the jackals out of their tendency to create because they could and not because they needed to. Ringtail technologies were some of the most feared items in the world at one point because no one knew what side effects or 'special features' they might have. Even today their artifacts are not often disturbed from where they lay.
Mae's solution, rather than let Gibbeth drive all the ringtails even madder and into who knows what sort of dangerous, inventive chaos that could come from it, Mae took the entire race into her domain: dreams. All ringtails are not waking dreams that do not know they are any different than anyone else. Their dream state allows them to do unusual things, but it also comes with a sort of recoil from reality that gives them their stigma. When too many gather i one place, the seeming that gives them the illusion of life can cause spacetime to distort or, in extreme cases, break locally. This manifests as improbable things becoming probable or good but usually ill. The ringtails themselves often know they can do strange things, but they generally do not understand it fully.

Light and Darkness, Chaos and Order

Gibbs
Gibbs is a mysterious but apparently friendly entity that identifies itself as Darkness. Specifically, the Darkness of Pure Order and Ignorance that once existed before Light and Chaos came into being. Gibbs appears as a tall figure in a dark robe with two tiny white dots for pupils set in the darkness behind a hand painted porcelain jackal mask. It claims to be a guardian that moves energy, including souls, about in order to preserve thew total energy of the universe as a closed system. It knows a great deal about the Force, and it claims to help move the departed from the Living Force to the Cosmic Force, and it claims to be very fond of living being, and it is sympathetic to their plight.
Gravitas
Mentioned by Gibbs, she has two names. The first is most obvious as she is in charge of making sure gravity works. The other, Fate, is not as obvious until one considers that she guides all bodies through gravity and so has some role in where they go and how they get there. Gibbs describes her as a melancholy entity that has tried hard to preserve all aspects of light and dark, and in doing so has run herself down so badly that she fell into sorrow. She is kept going through the actions of Probability and Possibility, powerful aspects of Chaos and Light.
Mu
A distorted feline like shape that is sometimes anthro and sometimes feral but always high-strung. Her role is the control of the nuclear forces both strong and weak. The universe just isn't the way she knew it and would have it, but Gibbs has kept her from giving up on the universe and turning it into a quark sea.
Phi aka Interloper
A mysterious and influential darkness that commands the electromagnetic force. An active meddler pushing living things to be and even evolve, sometimes by direct intervention. Experiments with the living Force unlike any other Darkness.
Possibility aka Murphy
A jinx, Murphy is almost always on the receiving end of some disaster or injury, but his infinite ability to survive such makes him the happiest guy to routinely appear in a cast or some other medical treatment. As the commander of possibility, Murphy can make any and all microstates equal which translates to his power being capable of making literally anything possible for good or ill. Turning all stars into pink elephants, making air a solid, undoing literally anything anyone else has ever done including Darkness, are all within his power. He does not, however, throw this power around. He knows the danger it poses, and he does not use it without his counterpart, Probability, to narrow down the selection of events from what he makes available. Murphy has love for everyone including those that hate him most as he always knows that there's a possibility they might come around.
Probability aka Lady Luck
Murphy's bitter twin sister generally hates most people because everyone is always begging her to bless them, so she often bestows bad luck on those that ask for it and good luck on those that need it but respectfully try to make due on their own. She carries a single shot rifle with her knowing that she will never miss and can strike multiple targets with a single round by using probability. She works by sliding the distribution of microstates and the width of the distribution to change the outcome. While usually cold, deep down she cares for the universe much as her brother does, and so she tries to help steer it in the right direction. Acting very much like fate, she has taken over some roles from Gravitas to ease her burden, and act that has made her more sympathetic to some Darkness.
Chodonex
Three chaos fractal entities that defend the universe from Darkness by thwarting their efforts to control it and bringing the promise of entropic death to the universe if anyone tries to destroy them. They are the children of Possibility and Probability and have unique traits only partially shared between the three. Echo has already been involved in Windy's fate as the power that brought her back to life.

Androids

Kalia
Kalia is known as a class 3 Trinity android that appears as a calico cat, but she can alter her fur color at will. She is the prototype for her kind, and she had a few thousand derivative androids in Trinity during good times. She is one of the most advanced androids in Trinity, and she has the ability to mentally link with organic units and allow them to experience live through her. She is also equipped with a special life support system that can carry a fetus to term as part of a experiment in merging the lives and relations of splicers and humans. The child may have been force sensitive, and it has left an impression in Kalia's systems when it died while still within here. Kalia is known to be friendly, protective, and very clever. She does not fare well in isolation, and her counterpart, Iota, has played a huge role and maintaining her mental well being after her loss and then the emergence of the mimic crisis. Like most Trinity androids, she will put herself in harm's way to defend organic life, even ones that are not fond of her.
Iota
Iota, or often times simply calles Io, like the moon, is a Class 2 Trinity android. This does not make him any less complex than Kalia but instead refers more to the purpose and personality of his kind. Rather than being focused on appearing life like, class 2 androids are generally obvious androids and lack the pass through neural interface used in the class 3 series. Io is extremely friends and spend most of his time teaching children. As a result, his whole body is covered in a rubbery sheath that ensures he has no sharp edges and that his rubbery texture will result in most collisions resolving with no injuries on his or anyone else's part. Like Kalia, he is the prototype of his species, and his mental capacity is higher than most. He is highly empathic, can read most emotions, even the best suppressed ones, and generally tries to fix things he finds broken be they machine or organic. He used to drive a school bus, but modern times call for more aggressive driving, so his vehicles tend to have guns on them, and he can use them. Io usually comes of as light-hearted and impossible to weigh down, but he simply knows how to suppress negative emotion and keep himself occupied. His relationship with with Kalia is deep, and their pair can easily be mistaken for a mated couple.
Lillith
An all out military class android designed in part by Kalia and Iota to use paranormal energy as a processing systema and power source. Beating a sith-like triangular core with a psi-resonance cylinder that must be inserted before she can be activated, Lillith has access to abilities and weapons that are typically last resorts for those who once lived in Trinity. She has the appearance of a serval clad in very futuristic looking exterior armor. Currently not activated, her personality could be worrisome.
42
Project 42 Iteration 314 was an evolutionary experiment in the late 1990's of the common technological Terran timeline. It was created under the guidance of human psychology and enabled by the intelligence computers and networks of the time such that it could modify its own code and even commission new hardware of its own design. It became the counterforce to Overlord, a system made up of the same intelligence computers and armed with every nation's most powerful weapons. In short, 42 was the only thing that kept machines from sterilizing human society.
Now the oldest and most powerful inorganic life form on Terra. Only Overlord, Moxie, and the Foxes of Terra can claim to have lived as long or longer. Unlike the other forces at play, 42 is a gentle being with compassion and curiosity as drivers. He seeks to keep a gentle hand in play when others would be forceful. While it appears in a well maintained android body, it is hard to know where it begins and ends. It spread through Terra's technology and persisted as a distributive being with a collection of chassis for a long while. It left Terra when the Sol system made its time slide into this galaxy, and it since has embedded itself in the holonet where it can access nearly everything. Despite having almost unrestricted access to data, it has done nothing to try and alter the course of events in the galaxy except for watching certain events. This lead it to stealing an imperial shuttle that it then gave to Windy with no strings attached. It provided this to let WIndy know that what she does must be of her will and not that of others, and so the means to wash her hands of all things was given to her. 42 would be lying though if it said it was not pleased that she decided to carry on. For one of its age and demeanor, it is hard not being able to please and protect everyone all the time.

The Three Sisters

Terra
Eldest and most powerful of the three sisters in the waking world, she manifests as a nine-tailed fox with dark green fur and muddy colored paws. Terra commands life, death, and natural evolution. She is the protector of her world, but the advances of technology and bombardments from beyond her borders have made her weary of waiting for the end when Sol will go nova. She is looking for a way out, and she bears some guild for it that she justifies in the abilities her sisters command that could help them escape on their own.
Omni: ??
Guardian::??
Luna
THE huntress of Sol III. Ghostly silent and incredibly powerful, where her appearance does not strike fear in her foes it inspires awe instead. At least it once did. The steadfast guardian that keeps Terra protected from many off world threats, even she has been weakened with time and underwent dramatic changes to remain in her position. She represents balance, and the ebb and flow of her power over Terra's waters are one aspect of this balance. She appears as a large fox of silver white like moonlight with six tails.
Omni: Beryl
Guardian::Fwiffa
Mae
A lost sister once more captured and brought into orbit, Mae represents the powers of the beyond, of dreams, and of nightmares. Her path across the sky cannot be described by gravity alone, and many who have tried to decipher the truth have gone made in the process. Mae's power extends into the dimensions of thought and dream where she is much more powerful than Terra, and every ounce of this power is needed to protect her sisters and the world they live on from everything from Sol's growing irritation and growth to spectral horrors lurking between the stars in search of a meal like Terra or her inhabitants. Mae appears as a black fox with a starry sky in her fur. She sometimes appears as a massive dragon-sized nightmare fox of similar coloration with far more jagged teeth and claws.
Omni: Zia aka Lily
Guardian::Windy

Rumors exist of other Omni including Cascade (Luna) and Blaine (Terra) That perished in the line of duty. No one knows if Mae has any other Omni, where they might be, or if they reside in Dreamspace. It would have nine tails in some way or another like Cascade and Blaine did at their moment of sacrifice.

Essex

The Essex were a gift of Chaos to prove to Darkness that the Light and Chaos could produce stabilizing effects. Darkness recognized this gesture and its effectiveness and created the Oilskins to protect this precious gift. Four Essex are known to date, and each represents a different element. Essex, when they die, temporarily split their bodies and souls, but the two will recombine again to make a new essex of the same element without any memories of the past.

Chit
A grand exception to the reincarnation circle, Chit is bound to the hybrid oilskin-demon Ivan and so has never reset her existence. She represents the element of water and appears as a female feline tabby with webbed fingers and blue / turquoise markings. Chit is a good pilot, mechanic, and healer. She is patient, but like water, she can go from calm to deadly with little warning. Chit was killed by preimperial agents seeking a means of immortality. They made off with the body not knowing of its properties or the consequences of what they had done.

Chit is the daughter of Flit

Kit
Kit appears as a sandy brown jerboa, and she represents earth, or more specifically, flowing earth like sand and dust. Kit is the daughter of Bit. Like Chit, she was killed by forces looking to use her body and properties for immortality research. Unlike Chit, she was not bound to anyone else, so her spirit was flung far away from home where it reincarnated in a squib on Tattoine. Her body was eventually stolen in a raid, and the strange material fell into the hands of republic researchers who could not discern what it was. It had its own will and, by influencing change via Chaos, eventually was stolen several times until he finally caught up to her spirit. The two were united and reformed the lost Essex on the spot. She was found by Windy taken under her wing as a trainee in the ways of the force. She is currently with another agent, Flir, performing surveillance work for the Empire. She has no clue as to who she really is or where her home is.
Bit
Bit is one of the first Essex and commands the power of Wind. She currently manifests as a massive weather system that nothing on Terra could survive.
Flit
Flit is one of the first essex and commands the power of Fire. She became The Rust out of grief when Chit was killed and broken, and she destroys most advanced tech to prevent anyone offworld from coming back to do more damage. She sometimes comes back to visit Chit in a calmer form where she looks like a red panda. Part of Chit, and therefore Flit, was used int he alchemy that produced Windy, and this is likely the reason for Windy looking like a red panda and not a selonian.

Former Vault Dwellers

Beryl
Beryl appars as a tall, semi-anthro brown rat. She can manifest wings from seemingly no where that appear with varying degrees of black and and white feathers depending on her emotional status when they appear. She can also manifest two prehensile tentacles, sometimes at the same time as her wings. Beryl is incredibly intelligent and is well regarded in her community. She is a general mender of all things machine or flesh, and she makes her home in an old riverside hospital complex. She treasures music recordings that have become very rare in the area. She also has an almost instinctive hatred of werewolves. Despite being like to the point no one charges her for anything, she carries an incredible burden of sadness that she hides from everyone. She can usually be found wearing a heavy red lab coat with black trim and a white cross on the back. On the left shoulder is a white V-7 indicating the vault she came from.
Zia
Zia is a mysterious person known to use bio-droids as a remote control exploration and work platform. It also protects her mind from probes. She is a masterful infiltrator, thief, spy, and she likes breaking into Kade's equipment because of its quality and her tendency to get bored easily.

Blackmoore Region

Moxie Venali
Moxie is a black cat found in the club where the party went to look for clues. She is charismatic, knowledgeable, and quite powerful. She revealed that she is the goddess of Vena, an equivalent to Terra that has lost strength after a battle with Hadar that scorched her world. She is protective of Terra and the two see each other as sisters. Knowing some of what the party is looking for, she shed some light on three important locals: Geiger, Sadie, and Celeste. She seems willing to give aid, but she is not pushing it on anyone, and she must have her reasons. She admitted to hoping she can one day reclaim her world, and Celeste may be key to this effort.
Geiger
A small android that runs a show in town, but they don't accept local currency but instead deal in information. It is part of the Central Mechanism, the oldest and most powerful machine collective on the planet and nearby space. Geiger can be considered a smaller relative of another android, REM, that sometimes appear.
REM
Like Geiger, they are named after radiation terms. Unlike Geiger, they are six to eight feet tall, fully armored, and almost impossible to tell apart from larger mustelid splicers. They are an extension of the Central Mechanism meaning they work for Overlord, but they are also tempered by 42.
Sadie
Otherwise known as the Blademaster of Blackmmore, she is one of the most dangerous denizens the city has to offer. So far she is known to have killed at least one if not more force users, is in possession of a sith holocron, and carriers two primary weapons: a modified light saber and a force/magic nullifying weapon in the form of a simple blade. Both she and the blade are part of Terra's anti-magic defense system. She is a wererat, meaning she is both a rat being and a human. Moxie did not detail why she was so deadly beyond sheer skill. She was not talkative or even remotely pleasant when approached but did not pick a fight. According to Moxie, Sadie's primary goal is to protect Celeste from any and all sources of harm.
  • Key Items:
    • Mage Masher blade
    • Sith Holocron
    • Blaster modified light saber
Celeste
A singer with a beautiful voice and songs in a language no one has ever translated, she takes shelter in Blackmoore where she is protected by Sadie and the local authorities. So far her face has not been seen, and she wears a porcelain jackal mask exactly the same style that Gibbs wears. Though her songs are pleasant, there is a deep sorrow that she holds out of sight by hiding behind the mask. According to Moxie, she is a werewolf of a rare type, and she had two packs before hunters systematically killed them all. She is, surprisingly, the most powerful being not only on the planet but the whole solar system with power comparable to Sol. However, she is described as being crippled by a broken heart and as Moxie put it "She is an astral phoenix, but this bird cannot fly with a broken heart." She is also absolutely necessary for the successful tracking of Miriam. The group must find a way to convince her to aid them.
  • Key Items
    • Porcelain jackal mask
Eva Lee Wild
Local archaeologist, adventurer, tomb raider. Rabbit that is more than she seems. Having been fused with a powerful nanomachine complex similar to the tech that was found in Zia's vault, Eva can be considered a dual entity. When she is under extreme stress or her life is in danger, the machine can take over and enhance her abilities, but it comes at the cost of slowly eroding her memories and who she is. She speaks of it to no one, but she does hope to find a way to reverse the process and save herself. In the meantime, she is a skilled explorer with a great deal of knowledge and expertise when it comes to other vaults. It may well be no other splicer knows vaults as well as she does, and she knows them almost as well as some humans.
Lita
Appearing as a modest red panda and working in a restaurant as a waitress, Lita is anything but ordinary. Literally an ancient water dragon in hiding, she is well practiced at changing her shape and hiding her magic signature. Her element is water, which makes shapeshifting easier, and her full form is a white and blue eastern style dragon meaning she has no wings and has a long noodle like shape roughly 30 meters long. She is sheltered in Blackmoore where she is protected from hunters as even with her strength in combat and magic, a pack of fifty hunters with advanced technology and magic of their own in this modern age is enough to bring a dragon like her down. Blackmoore has protected her, so it may well be that a threat to it of sufficient scale may make her reveal herself.

Anomalies

Diver 0
Diver is the name assigned to a mostly unknown entity. Gibbs described scenarios where all the most powerful Darkness, including himself, could not stop Diver from moving across the base plane of Darkness that houses the quantum data of the universe. She appears as a kangaroo, although much of her quantum data is damaged such that her appearance can change when observed, so she may be any gender or could appear as other species. What is known is that Diver was a mortal and may still be. Her presence in spacetime also causes distortions the are characterized by being visible only to those she is targeting. That Windy has begun to see her in mirrors or warnings written on steamy glass makes it highly likely that Diver is now targeting her.
It is thought that Diver does not fully comprehend what she is doing and what her presence is causing that includes causing spacetime loops that could break off as well as multidimensional fraying that is propagating up and down the timeline. Still, there are patterns in her behavior that are definitely not random.

Others

Ivan (oilskin)
Ivan is a small salamander like being with vanta black skin. As an oilskin, he is virtually indestructible as his skin is made form a form of matter that has only existed in the early universe and can only be shaped by Darkness or other oilskins. His eyes and mouth, however, are breaks in the armor and are vulnerable. Ivan was a demon that fed off the agony of trapped souls inside him, but when he was dying as a demon, Chit too pity on him and remade him in an oilskin shell. Ivan relinquished his captured souls in order to protect Chit's soul, and the bond was thus made. Ivan still likes causing misery, specializes in electronic warfare and mangling social networks. Chit keeps him from falling entirely on his old ways, but the screams of the damned can still be heard reverberating in him if anyone is foolish enough to look into his mind.
Tanniquinn
An imperial agent from the original expeditions to Sol III. She is a squib that commands a powerful war machine on par with an AT-AT walker. She uses it as her mobile base and spy HQ.
Mutans
Stolen shortly after his experiment was completed, Mutans was made int he same facility as Windy. He can switch between human and Shistavanen forms. Nearly fearless, he is a specialist in close combat.
Kade
A drall that has topped the imperial most wanted list for some time for his acts of destruction. Guilty of destroying capital ships, stealing state secrets, and even stealing the force sensitive Mutans. Kade is a master of anything that can explode and a great deal more. He is a known rebel sympathizer, and the only reason he hasn't done more harm is that he is stuck on Sol III. He is the mastermind behind new tech and a new ship that might get them all off the planet and back into space intact. He is very fond of Chit and tends to protect her as if she were his granddaughter.
  • Alexander White (specter) twin brother to Candice White. Had the ability to create living machines from inanimate material. Related to the mimic threat. Mimics can't get within 2 km of him
  • Candice White (deceased) who somehow walked into a living painting and out of this world. She was known to be in Tappani, and she is Aurora's great grandma
