Life

For the better part of her life, RJ was always the good girl. She was studious, dependable, and responsible with almost everything she did. All her hard work landed her a solid job in the biotech field where she was happy if not too busy to really have much of a life outside of work. Working late nights, often picking up more time on the weekends, she never really got socialized like most others. A bit shy and very private, there really wasn't anyone in her inner circle she could call a romantic interest. Even those close to her saw her seldom as she preferred to spend her private time at home watching movies and playing games.

Eventually RJ reached her limit, and for the first time she finally decided to go outside and see more of the world. She packed a lunch and a blanket, and she set out for the riverside to enjoy the sun on her fur and, even if she wasn't with others, she was out of her house an the usual routine. She never saw the bee that came up on her spot, and her very first sting was also her last. RJ perished on a picnic blanket along the river due to anaphylactic shock from a unknown and very strong allergy to bee stings.

Afterlife

RJ didn't really have a lot to weigh in on her life when she reached the other side. She had no reason to be sent to a dark end in any number of dreadful places, but nothing really marked her as having earned any luxurious place above. A life barely lived is something with no strong bias in any direction. Instead of a heaven or hell decisions, she was given a job like many of those souls that land in the middle ground. In her case, she was trained to act as a form of air traffic controller for Valkyrie traffic as they shuttle far more bold and amazing souls than hers to places of glory. The job was not given to her by chance. Those that made the decision hoped seeing other more full souls might inspire her. However, tricksters are often given a neutral slot in the afterlife, and one such entity went a step further.

The Hourglass

No one is sure where it came from, but it can only be carried by RJ and only used by her. The tiny gold hourglass contained just enough sand to last fifteen minutes. However, that was fifteen afterlife minutes. The effect on RJ was far more profound as each time she turned it over, she could life an entire lifetime elsewhere without restriction. While she would always come back to the afterlife, this one a day escape was something left for her to use as she pleased with the desired result eventually occurring: RJ started doing things in her lives that she would never have done before or would never have been possible in reality.

While the hourglass does not change her fate in the afterlife, it does give her a chance to appear in life, though in a different random place each time, and do everything she never did be them as selfless as volunteer work or as selfish and carnal as she wished. If anyone is watching her lifetimes, she has no idea, and she keeps the hourglass a well guarded secret. She might not have the chance to become something worth the attention of a Valkyrie, but she is certainly making more fulfilling choices not than she ever did when alive.
