ROFL Encounter 2: Murderbots

Sometime just as the evening rush hour was to start, calls about a disturbance on the freeway turned into calls of a huge machine and drones knocking folks off the freeway and gunning them down in cold blood. To make it worse, the calculated trajectory was the Rose Garden. If this threat was not stopped, it could get to the very heart of Spindizzy!

It became a task for Cloudburst, Ragna, and Six-Nine to solve. Once on the site, they were able to confirm that there were four ground drones, four aerial drones, all of which were armed, and one massive serpentine machine. The last unit was Lasamar, an alien machine known for patience and a gentle temperament with a dislike for violence of any kind. At that time, however, that was not stopping it from using a tail mounted laser to cut news copters in half, microwave weapons to fry drivers, and its sheer mass to send smaller vehicles flying. Attempts to establish communications with Lasamar failed, so a forceful intervention was called for.

The drones were the first things eliminated, but they manage to cause armor damage before they were destroyed. Lasamar's tail laser proved to be quite dangerous, and its microwave beam forced Six-Nine and Cloudburst to change tactics. Eventually glue rounds and explosives slowed and disable Lasamar enough to reveal that there was one more entity present. The cyber-raven, Digit was latched onto Lasamar's back and dug into its systems, and it was controlling everything, even the drones. A round through the main mass was enough to end it's control. Its final word, "It's so fun to see you all up close. So much more fun to be had, caw!"

Lasamar was taken to the SED base along with all other evidence.
